Skye Realin will return to the Iowa women's wrestling program for the 2026-27 season after receiving a medical redshirt, head coach Clarissa Chun confirmed Thursday to Hawkeye Report.

Realin, a Mililani, Hawaii, native, has compiled a 29-2 record during her Iowa career with 25 bonus-point victories. She transferred to Iowa in July 2024 and opened her first season with six consecutive victories before suffering a spinal cord injury during practice that ended her year.

She returned to the lineup in 2025-26, moved up a weight class and won her first 21 matches while climbing to No. 1 at 138 pounds. Realin lost twice during the final weekend of the regular season, with both defeats coming against non-NCAA opponents. Iowa ultimately selected Lilly Luft to compete in the postseason, and Luft went on to place fourth at the NCAA Women's Wrestling Championships.

Realin returned to competition nearly two months later at the U23 Nationals, where she finished fourth at 62 kilograms. During the tournament she avenged one of her late-season losses with a 10-0 technical fall, pinned a recent U20 world bronze medalist and pushed U.S. senior world team member Adaugo Nwachukwu in a 5-4 loss.

With another season of eligibility, Realin returns to an Iowa lineup expected to feature significant depth in the middle weights as the Hawkeyes pursue an NCAA team championship.
