Penn State wrestlers Luke Lilledahl and Marcus Blaze added international gold medals to their resumes Sunday, highlighting a dominant showing by the U.S. men's freestyle team at the 35th annual Waclaw Ziolkowski Memorial in Warsaw, Poland. The Americans swept all six weight classes they entered.

Lilledahl captured the 57-kilogram title with a 2-0 victory over 2024 Olympian and former Lehigh wrestler Darian Cruz in a matchup between NCAA champions. Neither wrestler surrendered a takedown, with Lilledahl scoring the only two points of the bout off activity time, one in each period. The reigning NCAA champion at 125 pounds for Penn State, Lilledahl has now added another international title to a resume that already includes three age-group world championships. Cruz, a 2017 NCAA champion, provided an experienced test for the rising Nittany Lion.

Blaze was considerably more dominant in the 61-kilogram final. The reigning U20 world champion rolled past Kyle Burwick by 11-0 technical fall in the second period, controlling the match with strong underhooks and repeatedly converting his attacks. Burwick entered the tournament coming off a bronze medal at the 2025 Bill Farrell Memorial International, but Blaze never allowed the match to become competitive. The performance was another encouraging sign ahead of an even bigger assignment this fall. Blaze earned a spot on the U.S. senior world team earlier this year and will represent the United States at the World Championships in Astana, Kazakhstan, in October.

The rest of the American contingent was equally successful in Warsaw. C.J. Composto won at 65 kilograms, while senior world team members Zain Retherford, James Green and Levi Haines captured titles at 70, 74 and 79 kilograms respectively. Retherford and Haines both finished their championship matches with pins, while Green defeated fellow American Michael Caliendo 2-0 in the 74-kilogram final. Austin DeSanto, Beau Bartlett, Cameron Amine and Patrick Kennedy also earned bronze medals.

Penn State's Cole Mirasola placed fifth at 125 kilograms, losing in the bronze-medal match to fellow American Jordan Wood, 11-0.
