West Virginia adds program's all-time wins leader Hall as assistant coach

Peyton Hall, the all-time winningest wrestler in West Virginia University history, has joined the Mountaineers' coaching staff as an assistant coach.

Hall compiled 135 career wins at West Virginia, becoming the first wrestler in program history to qualify for five NCAA Championships and just the third Mountaineer to earn three-time All-American honors. His best finish at the NCAAs came in 2025, when he placed third at 165 pounds. He also won the Big 12 Championship that season, becoming just the fifth Mountaineer to win an individual Big 12 title, and accumulated 17 NCAA tournament victories to tie the program record. Hall competed twice at the NWCA All-Star Classic during his career, winning his bout in 2024.

A four-time NWCA Scholar All-American and five-time Academic All-American, Hall earned both a bachelor's and master's degree in sport management from West Virginia University.
