Iowa State has added a couple notable lightweights from the transfer portal.

Ayden Smith and Rin Sakamoto have committed to the Cyclones.

Smith was a national qualifier this past season as a redshirt freshman at 125 pounds for Rutgers. He finished the season with a 16-13 record. Smith's most notable win this past season came in a February dual meet over two-time All-American Jore Volk of Minnesota.

Sakamoto, a transfer from Oklahoma State, is an accomplished freestyle wrestler. He made Japan's U20 national team twice and represented Japan at the Senior World Championships. He wrestled only three college matches for the Cowboys at 133 pounds.
