Osing promoted to head women's wrestling coach at USF

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- University of Sioux Falls Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Jon Hart has announced Griffin Osing as the next head coach of the USF women's wrestling program.

"We're thrilled to promote Griffin as the next head coach of the women's wrestling program," said Hart. "His passion, leadership and commitment to our student-athletes have been evident from the moment he stepped foot on campus. I'm excited to see him lead this program and continue building a culture of academic and athletic success. "

Osing, who is entering his third season with the program, has played a foundational role in the development and early success of USF Women's Wrestling. Serving as the program's first assistant coach, Osing led the Cougars through a historic inaugural season and a strong follow-up campaign in 2024-25.

This past season, Sioux Falls posted an impressive 6-1 record in dual competition and sent two student-athletes—Zoe Adam (207) and Lanna Walter (117) -- to the NCWWC National Championships. Osing helped the Cougars outscore their opponents 261-154 in dual meets while capturing three individual titles by Adam and Brinley Green.

During the inaugural 2023-24 season, USF closed out the competition with a 6-3 overall dual record and four NCWWC National Qualifiers -- Teila Peters (130), McKenna Hendrickson (136), Brinley Green (143), and Zoe Adam (191). Peters made history by earning the program's first-ever national tournament win.

"I'm incredibly excited and honored to be named the next head coach of the Cougar Women's Wrestling program," said Osing. "Serving as an assistant coach over the past two years has been a blessing and has given me the opportunity to work with some truly amazing student-athletes. I look forward to continuing to support their growth and success—on the mat, in the classroom, and in their faith. I'd like to thank Dr. Bradfield, Jon Hart, and the entire hiring committee for their trust and support throughout this process."

Before joining the Cougars, Osing served as the head assistant coach at Minnesota State University Moorhead and as a graduate assistant for the men's wrestling team at Northern State University. A former collegiate wrestler himself, Osing was a three-time NWCA Academic All-American and NCAA qualifier at Southwest Minnesota State, where he graduated in 2019. He later earned a master's degree in sport performance and leadership from NSU.
