Rohrbaugh selected to lead Penn College wrestling program
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -- Penn College announced Dalton Rohrbaugh as the seventh head coach of the wrestling program. Rohrbaugh will begin his coaching duties on Sept. 24.
Rohrbaugh previously spent one season on the Shenandoah University wrestling coaching staff. At Shenandoah, Rohrbaugh's responsibilities included organizing and implementing practices, scouting and recruiting prospective student-athletes, and managing various aspects of the team's operations.
"We are very excited to welcome Coach Rohrbaugh to Penn College," Director of Athletics Scott Kennell said. "He comes to us from Shenandoah where he helped develop its program and played an instrumental role in recruitment and talent development. Coach Rohrbaugh will play an important role in continuing to elevate our wrestling program within the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference and the national level."
Before his time at Shenandoah, Rohrbaugh served as an assistant coach at Mayfield Mat Academy from 2020 to 2023. Rohrbaugh was responsible for creating and executing practice plans, clinics, and special events. In addition to his coaching roles, Rohrbaugh worked as an athletic department intern at Spring Grove Area High School in 2023. His responsibilities included marketing events, creating game day graphics, and assisting with budgeting efforts.
As a collegiate wrestler, he helped Lock Haven University to two Eastern Wrestling League (EWL) and PSAC championships in 2018 and 2019 and was a two-time NCAA Division III All-American at York College of Pennsylvania. In 2023, he capped off his collegiate career as the NCAA Division III Runner-up, finishing with a career 75-22 record, including a 52-4 mark in Division III competition.
"I am very excited to get to work with a great group of coaches and wrestlers at Penn College," Rohrbaugh said. "I have no doubt we will have continued success both on the mats and in the classroom. I want to thank AD Scott Kennell, Assistant AD Matt Blymier and the rest of the hiring committee for trusting me with the opportunity to lead the program."
