WICHITA, Kan. -- Friends University women's wrestling head coach Tim Prescott has resigned his position, VP of Athletics and Strategic Expansion Dr. Rob Ramseyer has announced.

"We thank Tim for his contributions to our women's wrestling program," said Ramseyer. "Tim was vital in helping us start up the program three years ago and is leaving it in a good spot going forward. We wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors."

A highlight of Prescott's tenure was Gianna Moreno earning the program's first NAIA All-America honor and KCAC championship this past season.

Under Prescott, the Women's Wrestling Falcons finished the season ranked 23rd in the NAIA.

Last Year, Prescott helped Moreno and Bailee Nelson become the first national qualifiers in the program's short history as the team wound up 26th in the nation.

"I am grateful for the opportunity to have served as the Head Women's Wrestling Coach at Friends University," said Prescott. "My entire goal was to transform the image of the program and to pursue a historic journey with our young but talented athletes. I am proud to say that together, we have achieved exactly that.

During my time here, we have set new standards and laid a strong foundation for the program's future success. I have thoroughly enjoyed my role and truly believe we have left the program in a better position for continued growth and excellence. I look forward to seeing the future accomplishments of this program and wish them the very best in their endeavors."

Men's wrestling head coach Tyler Mies will serve as the women's wrestling interim head coach until a permanent head coach is selected.
