PITTSBURGH -- Pitt wrestling put on a dominant performance on Thursday evening, defeating Rider in a dual by a 29-9 score at the Fitzgerald Field House in the team's penultimate dual of the season.

The 23rd-ranked Panthers (9-8, 1-3 ACC) cruised by the Mid-American Conference dual meet leaders, winning eight of the bouts against the Broncs (7-7, 7-0 MAC), including technical fall victories by Colton Camacho at 125 pounds and Mac Stout at 197 pounds.

Cole Matthews also earned bonus points for the Panthers at 141 pounds, claiming a major decision with a late takedown to pick up his 99th career victory for Pitt and set the stage for him to have the chance at reaching the prestigious win 100 on Senior Night tomorrow against Virginia at the Fitz.

Several Panthers posted big point totals. Luca Augustine tallied 13, Vinnie Santaniello scored nine and Finn Solomon and brothers Holden Heller and Reece Heller also did enough to earn victories.

"I thought we wrestled well tonight overall. It was good to see us score a lot of points in several matches," Pitt head coach Keith Gavin said. "We're excited for tomorrow now. It's a good opportunity to get the back-to-back weigh-ins and simulate the national tournament. Senior Night is always a nice moment to recognize those guys and their families as well."

Pitt concludes the 2023-24 regular season when it hosts Senior Night on Friday at Fitzgerald Field House. The Panthers will welcome Virginia (7-5, 1-3 ACC) on Feb. 23 at 7 p.m. and honor seven seniors prior to the dual, including departing team captains Holden Heller and Cole Matthews.
