Grand Valley State claims 32-11 win over Findlay

No. 11 Grand Valley State claimed a 32-11 victory over Findlay Thursday (Feb. 8) before a crowd of over 500 in the GVSU Fieldhouse Arena. The Lakers improve to 12-5 on the year and will conclude the regular season Sunday (Feb. 11) at the Ashland Duals. GVSU will face #19 Ashland at 11 a.m. and #23 Glenville State at 1 p.m.

The Lakers won seven matches, including five bonus point wins over the Oilers. Freshman Aaron Lucio opened the match with an impressive 20-4 tech. fall win at 125. Freshman Collin Twigg tallied a 5-4 win at 133 and freshman Jak Keller completed the freshman sweep with a 19-2 tech. fall win 141. Sophomore Chris Donathan recorded a workman like 16-5 victory at 149 to keep his season record unblemished (20-0). Sophomore Josh Kenny picked up a forfeit win at 174 and senior Seth Konynenbelt tallied notched an 8-1 senior night victory at 184. Sophomore Wyatt Miller closed the scoring for the Lakers with a pin at 197 in 1:47.
