Heidelberg wins 7 of 10 to top Muskingum

NEW CONCORD, Ohio -- Back in action following the holiday, the Heidelberg University Wrestling team won seven out of 10 weight classes in a 41-12 win at Muskingum University on Tuesday. Of the seven contested weights, Heidelberg won four -- one by tech fall and three via a pin.

Down 5-0 after 125, Heidelberg grabbed a small lead at 133. David Gelman defeated Donovan King, capping a tumultuous 90 seconds with a pin.

The Muskies picked up their final two wins of the evening at 141 and 149, taking a 12-6 advantage.

At 157, Travis Richardson toppled Chris Davis, pinning him in 73 seconds -- becoming HU's first wrestler to hit the 10-win plateau this season.

With the dual tied at 12, 165-pounder Anthony Grecol teched Zeke Poulos in the first period.

Heidelberg added to their lead with forfeit wins at 174, 184 and 197 by Owen Frizzell, Nate St. Bernard and Gavin Wickham.

Demitrius Hernandez ended the dual with a pin at 285. Locked in a low scoring affair with Noah DeHainaut, Hernandez outlasted his opponent and stuck him with six seconds left in the bout.

The Student Princes have won 21 straight duals over the Muskies -- a streak which dates back to 2003.

Heidelberg returns to the mats at the Ohio Northern Invitational on Saturday.
