McGonagle transferring to Virginia Tech

Two-time NCAA qualifier Connor McGonagle has a new home.

McGonagle announced Monday on Instagram that he will be transferring from Lehigh to Virginia Tech.

He posted photos of him wearing a Virginia Tech singlet and wrote on his post, "Get out the way or get run over. We're coming for it all now."

McGonagle started this past season in a battle with freshman Ryan Crookham for Lehigh's starting spot at 133 pounds. The two met at the Journeymen Collegiate Classic in mid-November, with Crookham getting the win and eventually securing the spot for the rest of the season. McGonagle picked up a win over Virginia Tech's Sam Latona 7-5 at the NWCA All-Star Classic and moved up to 141 pounds for the David Lehman Open in January, which would be his last competition of the season.
