Two-time national champ Miller named NJCAA Women's Wrestler of the Year by The Open Mat

The Open Mat presents awards annually in three categories for each division of college wrestling at the conclusion of the season. Awards are presented for Freshman of the Year, Coach of the Year and Wrestler of the Year.

The Open Mat's 2024 NJCAA Women's Wrestler of the Year is Carl Albert State's Lexi Miller.

Miller won the national title at 109 pounds and was one of three NJCAA women's wrestlers to repeat as national champion in 2024. She compiled a 28-4 record this season, with her only four losses coming against NAIA wrestlers. Of her 28 wins, 16 were pins and seven were technical falls.

One of the highlights of Miller's sophomore season was pinning her way to a title at the Grand View Open in early February. In the tournament she pinned All-American Alaina Sunlin of Upper Iowa and national qualifiers Aynsley Fink of Ottawa and Judy Sandoval of Grand View. Miller blitzed through NJCAA Women's Wrestling Invitational, highlighted by a 36-second pin in the finals over returning All-American Javanica Mickens of Indian Hills. She helped Carl Albert to a fifth-place finish at the NJCAA Women's Wrestling Invitational.
